Wanted: Graceful Women

Whether Ms. Monroe was a wholesome woman or not, by the looks of this photo a wholesome woman is present. Marilyn is sans implants, Botox and by the looks of her lovely lady lumps; sans Photoshop, too. She is a real woman and certainly one with a bit more grace than her counterpart on the right!

Isn’t it a shame how in today’s society the concept of a real woman is as foreign as the ingredients found in the latest dermal filler?

Though women have never strayed from enhancing their looks with a myriad of substances (think Queen Elizabeth using lead makeup) nor have they shied away from being a bit sexually deviant (think Cleopatra); it seems as if the way women are carrying themselves  has certainly changed.

We can fake everything these days – hair colour; hair length and texture; smooth skin; nails; tan; lips; cheeks; eye colour; breasts; butt; calves…so on and so forth.

While there is absolutely nothing wrong with enhancing oneself;  indulging in a little bit of plastic surgery or simply keeping manicured; what is wrong is are the double D boobs, dark spray tans and bad hair extensions. This overdoing-it-look looks cheap and tacky and can affect the way we are perceived and the way carry ourselves.

But given the current “role models” of the late –Jersey Shore “guidettes”, Playboy playmates, celebrity socialites and ZOO pinups- this is no surprising phenomenon.

What happened to Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelley and the Liz Taylor types for us to emulate? I suppose some may have been closet bad girls, but at least they maintained more grace than the Snooki, Kesha, Paris and Katie Price types that only grace the tabloids.

Femmefile readers, do you believe that the way women carry themselves today has changed?
