Don’t Invite This Fat(ty) for Dinner!

Being a world traveller, I have been privileged to taste some of the world’s best cuisine and meet an array of exotic people. It was to my surprise that not only was the majority incredibly good-looking, but somehow their slim waistlines did not match their rich cuisine and three course dinners.

With the obesity epidemic that is plaguing the nation, it made me wonder why some (myself included) can’t pull off eating a creamy pasta or gelato and still remain svelte.

Could there be a difference between the foods the foreign are eating, or is being thin in western society simply foreign to us?

Unfortunately, the answer is that our food processing is making our food foreign to our bodies. Even flying across the transatlantic, one can expect to eat this foreign offender, and interestingly enough, it’s called TRANS FATS. 

Fat already has a bad reputation, but if people knew the dangers of its deadly relative, it certainly wouldn’t be invited back to dinner.

So, what is a trans fat and where does this bad boy come from?
