Parking in Sydney? Maybe You Should Reconsider…

Fancy a trip to Sydney? Then be sure to leave your car at home! Sydney ranks in the top five most expensive places to park in the world!

If you are fortunate enough to live in the great city of Sydney, then you are well aware of the fortune you have to pay to park on its dear streets. In fact, according to Colliers International Global CBD Parking Rate Survey, which ranks cities by their average monthly unreserved parking rates, Sydney drivers pay a whopping $657 per month to park in Australia’s biggest city!

Surprisingly, this rate beats one of America’s biggest cities. New York, which you’d expect to be the priciest place to park, pays less at $550! And don’t let you meter expire, either!  A parking ticket in Sydney will set you back around $86!

This parking phenomenon has got the girls in the office wondering…we pump so much money into Sydney, where does all the money go?

With council rates, state taxes, RTA for vehicle registration and massive road tolls…our wallets seem to be constantly in debt to Sydney!

Femmefile readers, considering all these payments, do you think we should have to pay for parking, too?
