The Plastic Surgery Epidemic

I opened my favourite gossip mag last week to peruse celebs over brekkie when I was confronted by a story about plastic surgery and the stars who have it. Now normally I wouldn’t bat an eyelid but staring up at me was a beautiful, slim 23 year old woman who felt the need to completely restructure her body. Heidi Montag is probably familiar to those of you with cable television as she appears on the reality TV show, The Hills. A few years ago she had a nose job and breast implants, but has now followed that up with a cocktail of ten procedures (in one day) including: chin shaping, eyelid lifting, liposuction, bigger breasts, neck folding, bigger lips, pinned ears and more. She spent ten hours in surgery and describes “wanting to die” when she awoke in excruciating pain. Her ‘new’ look actually makes her look more trannie than tweaked and I question the stability of her mental health, as Heidi describes being “addicted to surgery” and “will definitely be having more.”

How sad that women…
